Radiosurgeryとは?

1.0MHz以下の低い高周波特性による手術がElectrosurgery（電気手術）と呼ばれるように、4.0MHz特性の手術はRadiosurgery（高周波ラジオ波手術）と呼ばれています。
日本臨床ラジオ波手術研究会(Radiosurgery研究会)の発足に際し、「本会は高周波ラジオ波メスを用いた[低侵襲手術]の症例、機器の機能性能を研究および討論を目的とする。」という意味において、目的/趣旨より名称(略称)を決定しました。

アメリカでRadiosurgeryとは?

Radio-surgery is a procedure in which tissue is removed or destroyed by electrical energy. This energy is converted to heat as a result of tissue resistance but, unlike electrocautery, the heat is generated in the tissues themselves and the actual electrode remains cold.
(Radiosurgeryは組織が電気的なエネルギーによって削除されるか破壊される手術方法です。このエネルギーは組織抵抗の結果熱変換されます。しかし電気焼灼と異なり、熱は組織自身で生成され、また電極自体は冷たいまま(熱を帯びない状態)です。)となっております。
